Railway Tearooms, Main Road, Belgrave C.1919
The Tearooms were built by Walter Childs, a 'spec' builder whose houses popped up in various locations. "Walter Childs builds TEA ROOMS opposite Dickinson's Store, Main Road, Belgrave. Walter Childs on motorcycle. Mrs Childs in doorway. R. O. Tucker, Estate agent, at the door of his office." Robert Octavius Tucker lived at Te Koi Lodge in Terrys Ave and played many roles in Belgrave's early history.
