This shot, taken from a W5 class MMTB tram on Glenferrie Road looks north through the interlocked railway gates at Warra Street as a sliding door Tait train passes: note the open doors on the train.
The Kooyong station is just to the right of the signal box.
Note the old ‘de-rail’ tram points, designed to derail a tram rather than have it crash into the closed gates and train. These worked in conjunction with the points at the crossing.
