The foundation stone was laid in 1842. Building completed 1843 and used for Supreme Court sittings until relocated to William Street in 1884.
Occupied by predecessors of the Magistrates Court from c. 1891 to 1910, when the buildings were demolished.
This courthouse was the scene of the Eureka Stockade trials and the Ned Kelly trial.
