Wesley College, St.Kilda Road, St.Kilda, C.1884
The Victorian Colonial Government, in the 1850s, granted lands and funds to four religious groups - including the Wesleyan Methodist Church - to establish Colleges in the growing town.
In 1854, the Wesleyans were granted 10 acres on St Kilda Road, just south of the city. In January 1865 the foundation stone for the new college was laid, opening a year later.
The building was extended over the years and was substantially remodelled and expanded in the 1930s.
