A Victory Bell being erected in Bourke Street to celebrate the end of WWII.
Although WWII ended in 1945, the "Victory Day" celebration was held on 10 June 1946. The following is an excerpt from an article in The Age of Saturday 8 June 1946: "...One Bourke-street store has arranged a series of windows depicting representative figures and flags of Allied countries. In another huge Victory bells and laurel-wreathed white columns are effective".
