Fires


Men head off to fight the bushfires that threaten their township in the Dandenong Ranges, January 14 1962. The bushfires burned across the Dandenong Ranges and on the outskirts of Melbourne, killing 32 people and destroying more than 150 homes. Areas severely affected included The Basin, Christmas Hills, Kinglake, St Andrews, Hurstbridge, Warrandyte and Mitcham.
